405 Days To Go!

What the heck took so long!?!

Well, as we all know, Grant is not a planner & Courtney is an expert for her procrastination skills. Wedding planning took a back seat when growing our family became the focus. But here we are! FINALLY!

You just had to pick destination? I don't think we can swing it!

We know a trip to the Dominican Republic is a big ask and may not be possible for everyone — and we completely understand! When we pictured this celebration, we knew we wanted to be surrounded by our closest friends and family in one of our favorite places to be: somewhere tropical, with our toes in the sand and the people we love nearby. While we would absolutely love to have you there, please know there are no hard feelings whatsoever if you aren't able to make the trip. We feel incredibly lucky to have you in our lives, whether you're celebrating with us in paradise or cheering us on from home.

What is the deadline to officially book a room?

Deadline is February 1st, 2027! It's a $500 deposit to hold the room.

Are there more payment deadlines?

Yes! Once the room is officially held, the 2nd deadline of June 1st, 2027 is $500 per person going on the trip. The 3rd, and final deadline, is August 20th, 2027 in which the final payment is due.

Will Stephanee, the travel agent, handle the flight too?

She can! If you'd prefer to book the flight on your own, you can totally do that. If you'd like her to handle it, she can do that too. For those that want to travel on the same days as we do, and potentially be on the same flight, we can try to arrange that too!

Why this resort?

Grant and I have been searching for a long time to find the perfect place without breaking the bank. We knew we wanted a beach wedding from the start but we didn't want a typical backdrop. So I searched for a travel agent who could help us find the idea we had in our head and Stephanee found it! It's not your typical resort but that's what we love about it. And kid-friendly was at the top of our list! We knew we wanted our kids to have a vacation to remember as well, along with all the other kids joining !

What makes this resort different?

Zemi Miches is actually in a cove so that when you stand on the beach, you can see the mountains on the other side even though you're on the ocean. This does make the water look a little more "lake like" without the waves but if you walk 20 min down the beach, you'll get outside the cove to the bright blue waters. The sand also sits on a hard stone so the beach is not hard to walk on. This also means it's not a sand castle building beach. If you want that, you need to go down the coastline! But the pictures look stunning and the Facebook groups I've joined that give reviews from people at the resort currently are all great! The resort is not a wild party nightlife atmosphere; it's very calm, with great food, great service, and stunning views. And waterslides for the kids (and adults)! Which was very important to us.

Will there be a registry?

Goodness no! Grant doesn't want me to bring ANYTHING else into the house. And I can't add pets to a registry, unfortunately. *wink* *wink*. So just having you all join us is more than enough!

Can I bring a Dominican Dog back with me?

100%! ...not kidding. My mom has a wonderful dog named Flacka who came back from the DR (along with her 3 friends) when they went there on vacation. I'll scope rescues just in case anyone wants to bring back a living souvenir. ;)
